Loading the Extension Onto Your Computer
Using Windows Explorer, copy the BarrTips.avx file into the /Esri/Av_gis30/Arcview/Ext32 folder. Typically this folder is on the c: drive.

Loading the Extension into an ArcView Project
In ArcView, select the File menu item in the project window and click the Extensions option. A dialog box showing a list of available extensions is shown. Check the Barr Tips extension and then press the OK button.

Directions for Use
Press the Barr button on the View's button bar. A dialog box will appear. Select a theme from the list of themes in the drop-down list. A list of fields will appear in a list box below. Select the fields for which you want values to show up in the map tip. Check the Show Field Names checkbox if you want the field names to show up in the map tip. The Display Map Tips check box is the toggle to turn the map tips on and off. When checked, data will show up in a balloon box when you pass the cursor over corresponding records on the map display.
