Waste Management:
Management Assistance

Obtaining a permit is arguably the most important and difficult milestone in a waste management project. The process involves performing initial planning, developing an attainment strategy, and negotiating the permit terms.

Barr has successfully assisted clients in attaining permits for:

  • Impoundments
  • Secondary containment systems
  • Landfills
  • Other waste and contamination facilities and treatment systems

Our goal is an outcome that's favorable for our client, regulators, and the community—in fact, Barr frequently helps prepare presentations to regulators and the public. We've also worked on developing long-term planning. No facility is going to last forever, so we work with clients to evaluate and assess alternatives for waste management and alternatives for future use of the facilities.

Other waste management issues Barr has helped clients with include:

Barr also provides for the ongoing waste-management activities necessary to meet permit requirements, operation needs, and final-closure objectives.
