Air
Quality:
Testing, Monitoring, and Modeling
For
more than a decade, Barr has been providing clients with integrated
air quality services such as assistance, testing and monitoring,
air-pollution-control design and troubleshooting, and air
quality impact studies, including:
Stack testing:
The chemical engineers and technicians who perform Barr's
stack testing are well versed in regulatory monitoring requirementsand
they'll get the accurate results you rely on for compliance
and engineering purposes. Our stack testing services include:
- Test plan preparation
- Regulatory negotiation
- Sample collection
- Process data monitoring and collection
- Lab analysis coordination and data
analysis and interpretation
If
your situation calls for a new approach, we can adapt NIOSH,
OSHA, NCASI and other methods to collect a range of organic
and inorganic compounds. We also use diagnostic techniques
such as particle sizing and three-dimensional flow profiling.
And, for clients who need it, we supply ambient air and
indoor air quality
monitoring. Read more about our stack
testing services.
Ambient
air monitoring: Do you need
ambient air data for construction permits, indirect source
permits, RCRA permits, or a Superfund site remediation? Barr's
air quality engineers, scientists, and technicians have conducted
ambient air monitoring for both criteria pollutants (regulated
by NAAQS) and toxic pollutants (regulated by NESHAPS and Title
III). We work with clients and regulators to establish monitoring
program goals, pollutants to be monitored, detection limits,
sampling and analysis methods, spatial and time scales, and
reporting formats. Because we've conducted monitoring projects
for manufacturing, industrial, mining, refining, and utility
clients, we also understand long-term operations and maintenance,
security, power, and access issues.
Dispersion
modeling: Our team of air quality specialists with modeling
expertise is one of the largest in the region. We have experience
with modeling for short- and long-range air dispersion, chemical
transformation, visibility impact, and air pollution deposition—as
well as with modeling for noise impacts and accidental chemical
release impacts.
