Management:
Evaluations and Assessments
Barr's
process evaluations and assessments will keep you in the know—whether
you're concerned about noise impacts, process safety, pollution
prevention, or the potential for ecological or human health
risks.
PSM:
We can help you maintain an effective process safety management
program by performing compliance audits and providing safety
training. If your program falls behind, our staff has experience
in HAZWOPER, development of process and instrumentation diagrams
(P&IDs) and process flow diagrams (PFDs), and computer modeling.
We can also help you determine whether your facility falls
under risk management plan rules as well as-or instead of-PSM
to avoid duplication of effort.
Pollution
prevention: An experienced Barr team can perform a pollution
prevention audit of a single production process or your whole
facility. We'll work with your staff to identify, document,
and prioritize pollution prevention opportunities.
Risk
assessments: A risk assessment is a qualitative or quantitative
characterization of the nature and magnitude of human health
or ecological risks. Barr's staff has conducted human health
and ecological risk assessments for hazardous-waste-site evaluations,
Superfund sites, air toxics reviews, landfill permitting and
siting projects, environmental impact statements, and brownfields
sites. We can assist you with hazard identifications, exposure
assessments, toxicity assessments, and risk characterization.
Our expertise in areas such as toxicology, epidemiology, chemical
fate and behavior, public health, and biology is essential
for accurate evaluation of risk factors.

monitoring and modeling: Need to assess potential noise
impacts for a proposed project or address the concerns of
workers or neighbors? We have conducted noise impact assessments,
measured and modeled ambient and operational noise levels,
investigated noise mitigation measures, and assisted with
facility siting issues related to minimizing noise impacts.
