Assessment and Remediation:
Brownfields Redevelopment
The
term brownfields is typically used to describe
properties that have actual or perceived contamination and
an active potential for redevelopment or reuse. Redevelopment
of these properties has historically involved expensive cleanup,
protracted transactions, and/or environmental liability under
state and federal laws. However, more and more public and
private entities are purchasing and successfully pursuing
redevelopment of brownfield areas with the help of local,
state, and federal cleanup assistance programs.
At
Barr, we understand the benefits land recycling offers communities
and even entire regions. We've helped hundreds of clients
assess, investigate, clean up, and redevelop such properties.
We understand the process, effort, and resources required
in transferring contaminated properties, putting previously
idle property back into productive use, and redeveloping property
to its highest and best use. We also understand the challenges
and time commitment involved in accomplishing these goals.
