Senior Engineer/Geologist Project Manager Site Assessment Focus

Summary
Undertake challenging and progressive work on projects related to soil and groundwater investigations, oil and natural gas permitting, environmental assessments including due diligence/all appropriate inquiry standard, Brownfield redevelopment programs, and State or Federal site remediation and cleanup programs. Project responsibilities will include development of proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and applications for environmental permits and economic assistance; management of complex data collection programs; preparation of reports and supporting documentation; communications, meetings, and negotiations with clients and regulatory agency personnel; and overall project and client relationship management. Responsibilities will also include building client relationships, mentoring staff and business development.
NOTE:
Applicants must be able to work in locations that feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and to enter and work within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Job assignments may involve work on waste disposal sites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous materials. Safety training will be provided before being assigned to work on these sites.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
- Thorough knowledge of and 6+ years experience working with North Dakota and federal environmental and waste regulations, Phase I/Phase II site assessment programs, Brownfield redevelopment programs, and site remediation and cleanup programs.
- Familiarity with regional geology, soils, and natural resources.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication and negotiation skills.
- Flexible working style, self-initiative and motivation, and a willingness to lead and work with teams of multi-disciplined specialists to meet project and client needs and schedules.
- Conscientiousness concerning fulfillment of commitments and accuracy and timeliness of work.
- Awareness of safety issues related to industrial and contaminated sites.
- Experience with engineering components of Response Action Plans, Feasibility Studies including plans and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Montana and Wyoming remediation and clean up programs.
- Registered Professional Engineer in North Dakota or Professional Geologist (Preferably WY or MN) or able to become such within 1 year.
- Masters degree in engineering, hydrogeology, geology or related discipline.
- Project management and leadership experience with complex projects.
- Demonstrated business development and client relationship development skills.
- Remediation system design experience.
