Summary

This position presents the opportunity to play a leadership role with one of the leading consulting firms in the upper Midwest and a firm that has been recognized as a “Best Place to Work” in Minnesota and one of the “Best Engineering Firms to Work” nationally by CE News.

The person in this position will work with multidiscipline project teams providing support on industrial related projects. Project assignments may include project management; client coordination; design and analysis; laying out designs with CADD software; preparing construction plans and specifications, spreadsheets, reports, and construction cost estimates; construction observation; materials testing; and facility inspections. The work will be primarily for industrial processing facilities including power plants, mining facilities, and other heavy industrial facilities. The work may at times involve short-term, out-of-town assignments.

NOTE: Some work locations may feature rough terrain typical of industrial sites and may also require entering and working within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Safety training will be provided for work in these areas.


Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering and 5+ years of related experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certified, or ability to obtain within one year.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work cooperatively in a project team environment that encourages self-initiative.
  • Demonstrated project organization and management skills.
  • Flexible working style as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs.
  • Acceptable driving record.


Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. in Structural Engineering.
  • 7 + years of related work experience.
  • Background/experience working on industrial projects.
  • Work experience with structural engineering analysis software such as STAAD Pro or MathCAD.
