Chris Nyikos

Chris assists clients with all aspects of underground mining. He has more than four decades of experience with operations, engineering, and project management in the coal, potash, and trona industries. Over the last 30 years, he has served as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them address a variety of mining and mineral processing technical and operational challenges. 

Before coming to Barr, Chris spent 10 years working in the potash industry and 24 years in the coal industry. At Intrepid Potash he led projects, provided environmental expertise and quality assurance, assisted senior management with strategic planning, and managed operational improvement projects. At Mountain Coal Company, he managed projects involving infrastructure, mine development, and longwall installation, in addition to managing surface operations at West Elk Mine. Chris also served as a senior project engineer for Peabody Energy Australia at the Wambo South underground longwall project in New South Wales.
