David has 30 years of experience in aquatic toxicology and ecological risk assessment. Much of his career has focused on the toxicity and risks of metals and other inorganic chemicals in the environment. This includes risk assessments at mine sites and downstream environments to support permitting, environmental management during operations, and closure planning. A particular area of expertise is the evaluation of selenium in the aquatic environment, including site-specific toxicity assessments and bioaccumulation modeling.
In addition to site-related assessments, David’s background includes conducting critical reviews of aquatic toxicity studies and technical reviews of existing and draft water quality criteria, as well as developing bioavailability-based criteria for metals on behalf of industrial and regulatory clients.
