Dennis’s background in the mining industry spans more than 35 years and includes a decade of work in underground coal mining. After acquiring a bachelors degree in civil & environmental engineering, Dennis shifted his focus to environmental regulation and mine permitting; environmental and civil engineering as it relates to mining; and communication and information-sharing that promotes mining.
He has a particular passion for transforming inactive minelands into new mining operations, renewable-energy sites, or public recreation areas, or returning the site to its pre-mining condition—not only because it’s the responsible thing to do, but because it helps the industry reclaim the good reputation it needs and deserves.
