Ian provides expert chemical and environmental engineering services to many industrial clients. He provides wastewater and process engineering expertise on projects involving industrial water/wastewater treatment, assessment, and design. Ian’s areas of specialty include process simulation, evaluation and design, process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) development, and water, chemical and energy balances. His environmental consulting experience includes performing feasibility studies, NPDES permit applications, environmental investigations, treatment operations, and waste management. At Barr, Ian contributes to a variety of projects involving pollution control, chemical remediation, decarbonization and waste reuse. He typically deals with reviewing, developing and implementing designs for technologies including ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis, neutralization, coagulation, flocculation, clarification, granular activated carbon, ion exchange and distillation.
