Kate has 25 years of experience working in the environmental sciences, with a focus on ecotoxicology, disturbance ecology, analytical chemistry, terrestrial and aquatic contaminants monitoring, and environmental data quality. She consults on toxicity and monitoring studies for a variety of projects on behalf of industry, port, and municipal clients related to risk from exposure to contaminants in water, biota, and sediment. Her experience spans environmental sampling design, field supervision, and data interpretation and dissemination of results, including leading complex field efforts and writing technical reports for remedial investigations and ecological risk assessments. Kate is particularly interested in inorganics and contaminants of emerging concern (CECs). She manages projects investigating the sources and ecological impacts of metals and CECs in the Pacific Northwest.
