Shannon Katka

Shannon is a senior ecological toxicologist with over 22 years of experience conducting ecological risk assessments (ERAs) across a range of contamination issues, including Superfund sites and litigation-driven projects. She has led and authored numerous ERAs addressing both terrestrial and aquatic environments, applying regional and national guidance to develop scientifically robust, site-specific evaluations. Her expertise includes exposure pathway analysis, toxicological threshold development, and risk characterization for contaminants in soil, sediment, water, and biota. Shannon’s technical strengths span sediment assessments, dietary and bird-egg modeling, strategic sampling design, and ecotoxicology.
