Shauna Snyder

Shauna Snyder

Before joining Barr in 2025, Shauna gained eight years of experience at legacy mines in the U.S. and Canada. She served as the mine manager at BHP’s Island Copper site in Canada and as an environmental engineer and health and safety specialist at other sites in BHP’s portfolio. At the Island Copper legacy mine in British Columbia, she was responsible for site safety and for water management and treatment, including managing the biogeochemical pit-lake treatment system. Her work at that site also encompassed planning, developing, and managing technical studies, as well as engaging multiple parties with interest in the closure and reclamation of the site.

In other roles at BHP in Arizona, California, and Texas, Shauna helped develop operation, maintenance, and surveillance (OMS) plans for numerous legacy sites; implemented corporate and compliance requirements, initiatives, and reporting; and verified that safety and environmental controls were in place to properly close historic mine shafts and adits. She spent the first two years of her career at BHP’s on- and offshore petroleum operations in Houston.
