Dan Engel

Wetland Ecologist

Dan Engel has nearly 15 years of experience monitoring and assessing natural resources as a project manager, lead scientist, and technician. A certified wetland delineator, he manages wetland projects for mining and power clients across Minnesota’s Iron Range, assisting them with permitting, jurisdictional determinations, and compensatory mitigation. Dan also conducts and manages field efforts including wetland delineations, functional assessments, vegetation and hydrology monitoring, and wetland restorations. He has a broad background in environmental monitoring and permitting including botanical and wildlife surveys, NPDES compliance for iron mines and landfills, brownfields redevelopment, Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments, hydrology, water sampling, laboratory analyses, cartography, stormwater management, and fisheries.
