Steve Klein

Vice President, Senior Civil Engineer

Steve Klein has over four decades of experience in stormwater management; water resources management; and hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for municipalities, counties, and watershed districts. He has served as the lead or support engineer for more than a dozen watershed management organizations in Minnesota and South Dakota. In these roles, his work has included rural and urban water resource planning, watershed planning, hazardous waste cleanup, erosion control, water quality enhancement, park development, wetland mitigation, feasibility studies, and preparation of plans and specifications for numerous construction projects, construction observation, and public meetings.

An expert in flood control and mitigation, Steve has extensive experience designing dikes, levees, and other control structures. He has led multiple projects related to levee certifications, pump stations and lift stations for flood control, and sanitary sewer and water conveyance. He has also served as a technical expert and forensic advisor on litigation matters involving water resources, flooding, infrastructure failures, construction practices, wet basements, and foundation problems.
