Profile Picture

Ray Wuolo has over three decades of experience in the characterization and investigation of groundwater flow and groundwater contamination. He specializes in computer modeling of groundwater flow and contaminant transport, aquifer testing, well design, pump-and-treat system design, and automated inverse calibration methods. At Barr, he leads projects involving groundwater supply and sustainability, hydrogeologic site evaluation, mining hydrogeology, aquifer remediation, environmental chemistry, and environmental impact statements.

Ray has also provided expert testimony on groundwater-flow issues. His work includes applying groundwater flow and solute transport models to over 80 contaminated sites throughout the United States; performing hydrogeologic analyses of limestone, gravel, and quartzite quarries and taconite, lead, phosphate, and trona mines; and managing the development of large-scale groundwater-flow models for water resource protection.
