city hopes to unearth Hidden Falls Creek

April 6, 2017

A plan developed by the city and Capitol Region Watershed District for low-impact stormwater management at the site of the former 135-acre Ford assembly plant in Saint Paul, Minnesota, could potentially restore Hidden Falls Creek and enhance Hidden Falls, a treasured local landmark.

A recent news article described the proposed plan, which would include removing an underground pipe and establishing a stream corridor to bring the creek to the surface. The corridor, along with a large pond, will help treat stormwater before it reaches the Mississippi River. The stream will also increase flow to Hidden Falls.

Barr performed a stormwater-management feasibility study and helped develop the master plan for the site. Click here for more about our work on the project.
