Jeong-Yun Won presents at the Geo-Risk 2017 Conference in Denver

June 13, 2017

Senior geotechnical engineer Jeong-Yun Won gave a presentation about laterally loaded piles in soft clay at the Geo-Risk 2017 Conference in Denver, Colorado. The presentation was based on a paper titled “Laterally Loaded Pile Behaviors in Clay with Uncertainty in Strain.” Data from industry projects were used to show the high variability of soil strength based on location and depth and how that affects laterally loaded piles—often used for building, bridge, and wind turbine foundations.

The Geo-Risk conference was organized by the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Geo-Institute, an organization created to promote the geotechnical engineering profession through conferences, publications, and educational programs. To learn more about the Geo-Institute, click here.
