engineering interns share lessons learned

August 8, 2017

Interns from Barr’s engineering and design group recently shared highlights of their experiences and some details about projects they’ve worked on this summer.

Mechanical engineering intern Colton Ross worked in our Hibbing office and noted the importance of “saying yes to opportunities and getting involved” with a variety of projects. Calgary intern Stuart Martinson, a civil engineering student, valued the chance to work across engineering disciplines on design projects ranging from pumping stations for mining facilities to water rides for amusement parks.

Structural engineering intern Lukas Hartman (pictured below) noted that working in Barr’s Minneapolis office had helped him move from “just following orders” to feeling comfortable “offering suggestions and ideas on projects.”
