Barr works with clients who mine and process iron ore, coal, oil sands and industrial sands, platinum, palladium, gold, copper, nickel, trona, lead, industrial sands, limestone, and dolomite. More than half of our staff have worked on mining projects. Nearly one quarter of our annual revenue is generated by work with clients in the mining and mineral processing industry.
We provide services for every phase of a facility’s life cycle, from mine planning and environmental permitting to mine closure and reclamation. Our services range from initial studies of ore reserves and geologic and economic modeling to short- and long-range planning, from site reconnaissance and rock investigations to permitting and feasibility studies, from infrastructure design to materials handling and process engineering.
We offer conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering of mineral beneficiation facilities for crushing, concentration, and pelletizing. We’ll also help you manage mine wastes, tailings, surface-water discharges, and other potential sources of contamination in ways that avoid adverse environmental impact. And, if needed, we can provide mine-waste remediation and reclamation services, from preliminary assessments to long-term plans to remedial and reclamation design.
We partner with consultants who provide expertise in drilling and blasting, mining equipment selection, detailed mine planning, and training. Together, we offer the drill-to-mill optimization services needed to design or modify mining operations for maximum efficiency.
