Getting our start

Barr's Calgary office opened in 2010 as Barr Engineering and Environmental Science Canada Ltd., with a strong focus on oil sands and tailings management. Since then, our services have grown to include natural resources management, environmental assessment and permitting, and geotechnical, civil, and process engineering. Our Canada-based team provides integrated engineering and environmental consulting services to many key clients in the mining industry and those in the power, fuels, and public sectors.

Active in our community

To meet the ever-changing needs of Canada's dynamic economy, Barr continues to hire local experts and has established a presence in Saskatchewan and Ontario. In addition, our engineers and scientists are active members of professional organizations like the Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM), the Mining Association of Canada (MAC), and Canada's Oil Sands Innovation Alliance (COSIA), and the Canadian Dam Association (CDA).
