Two hours north of the Twin Cities, Duluth is often called “a wilderness pretending to be a city.” At the western tip of Lake Superior, the Zenith City has miles of trails and green space along with many of the amenities you’d find in a metropolitan area. With a sweeping view of Lake Superior, Barr’s office in Canal Park is just a short walk, pedal, paddle, or even ski from most of the city’s major attractions. In addition to the world’s largest freshwater lake, the Twin Ports of Duluth and Superior, Wisconsin, offer residents a thriving arts and music scene, historic sites honoring its industrial past, and ready access to Minnesota’s rugged North Shore.

Serving our clients

With the area’s deepest roster of engineers and environmental consultants, our staff serves clients in the Twin Ports and northeastern Minnesota across a wide range of industries including oil and gas, mining, power utilities, shipping, transportation, and the public sector. We stay connected to clients and the broader business community through memberships in professional organizations such as the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration, the Minnesota Groundwater Association, and Minnesota Brownfields, as well as economic development groups such as the Duluth Chamber of Commerce and APEX.

Giving back to our community

Duluth retains its small-town charm, and many of our employees build close friendships with co-workers. Often this includes teaming up away from work to give back to the community through community-betterment programs such as Adopt a Highway, Habitat for Humanity, and the Lake Super Dragon Boat Festival that supports local charities.
