Stunning landscapes, rich history

Farmington lies in the scenic Four Corners region amidst the stunning landscapes of the nearby Animas River, Aztec Ruins National Monument, and San Juan Mountains. The Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness, known for its unusual rock formations, is just a short drive away and perfect for hikers and photographers. Farmington hosts various cultural events throughout the year, such as the Northern Navajo Nation Fair, the Totah Festival, and Riverfest, showcasing local art, music, and traditions. The nearby Salmon Ruins and Heritage Park also offer insight into the area’s rich history.

Getting our start

Our Farmington office opened in October 2023 when the staff of Ecosphere joined Barr. For 30 years, Ecosphere, an environmental consulting firm, provided clients with services including environmental compliance and permitting, natural and cultural resources consulting, public outreach and participation, and environmental planning and monitoring. Barr’s integrated environmental and engineering services serve power, public, fuels, and mining clients across New Mexico, Colorado, and the Four Corners region.

Our Farmington team members are active participants in professional organizations such as the New Mexico Archaeological Council, Archaeological Society of New Mexico, Society of American Archaeology, and New Mexico Oil and Gas Association.
