Located on the Mesabi Iron Range in northeastern Minnesota, Hibbing can lay claim to both the world’s largest open-pit iron mine and legendary musician Bob Dylan, who grew up here. Once known as “the iron capital of the world,” the entire city was relocated in the 1920s after iron ore was discovered underneath it. Today it’s a friendly, family-centered community with year-round outdoor activities for locals and visitors alike.
