Once declared America’s “Most Beautiful Small Town” by Rand McNally’s Best of the Road contest, Jefferson City boasts more than 15 miles of greenway connecting neighborhoods with historic buildings, public parks, schools, and local businesses. Its central location draws graduates from the University of Missouri and Missouri University of Science and Technology as well as commuters from nearby Columbia. Missouri’s capital, Jefferson City also sits on the northern boundary of the Ozarks, providing access to numerous springs, caverns, and hiking trails.

Getting our start

Barr joined the Jefferson City community in 1998 by acquiring Environmental Concepts Inc. (ECI), a local firm providing regulatory guidance and permitting services for key mining clients in the area. We’ve continued to grow organically through our geotechnical engineering projects and air, water, and soil permitting and compliance services for clients across various sectors, including manufacturing.

Active in our community

Our Missouri-based engineers, scientists, and technical specialists represent numerous practice areas. We are members of the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce and Missouri Chamber of Commerce as well as local and national industry organizations including the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME), the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE), and the American Public Works Association (APWA).
