Carnation City
Less than 15 minutes from downtown Denver and within easy distance of the Rocky Mountains, Wheat Ridge provides equal opportunities to reach large city attractions and the endless skiing, hiking, and other recreational opportunities of the mountains. Formerly the largest producer of carnations in the world, Wheat Ridge earned the nickname of “Carnation City.” The city’s Carnation Festival is still one of the state’s longest running festivals.
Getting our start
Barr’s Wheat Ridge office opened in May 2023 with the acquisition of Exponential Engineering Company, an electrical engineering firm specializing in power delivery services, including substation, transmission and distribution, microgrid, interconnection, protective relay and SCADA design, and power system modeling and analysis. Serving clients throughout Colorado and across the Rocky Mountain region, our engineers, scientists, and technical specialists deliver integrated engineering and environmental services in power, fuels, mining, manufacturing, and public sectors.
Serving our clients
Our local staff members are active in professional organizations such as the RMEL, Colorado Rural Electric Association, and Colorado Association of Municipal Utilities. Our Wheat Ridge team is committed to providing collaborative problem-solving, supporting clients’ goals, and building long-term client relationships.
