Barr staff to present at American Society of Reclamation Sciences (ASRS) Annual Meeting

Barr’s unique, integrated approach to engineering and environmental services helps the mining industry solve complex challenges and achieve ambitious goals. We’ll share our expertise and collaborate with other industry leaders at the ASRS Annual Meeting this June 12–16 in Duluth, MN.

We would also like to recognize Mehgan Blair, the conference chair, for their commitment to this community and preparation for this event.

Multiple Barr staff members are scheduled to speak at the conference. On Monday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m., join Pete Kero for his keynote session “Mineland Reclamation on Minnesota’s Iron Range: Five Generations of Innovation.” Then at 11:00 a.m., join Chris Lenhart for his keynote session “SER’s International Principles & Standards for the Practice of Ecological Restoration.” Chris is the Midwest Great Lakes Chapter President for the Society of Ecological Restoration.

On Wednesday, June 15 at 11:00 a.m., Dale Kolstad, Barr, and Megan Houdeshel, Dorsey & Whitney LLP, will present “Converting a Former Mine to a Winter Wonderland.” In this presentation, Dale and Megan will share challenges and how they were overcome when working to transform a former mine site.

Additionally, we look forward to chairing a session for the technical program. Dennis Oakley is chairing “Soil Health Impact on Vegetation” on Wednesday, June 15 at 8:30 a.m.

We’re excited to attend and engage at ASRS and hope to see you there!
