Barr names seven new officers

Barr Engineering Co.’s board of directors has named seven new vice presidents, who are also principals of the firm. They are:

Jeff Grinsel,PE, a senior water resources engineer in Barr’s Minneapolis office, who has more than 15 years of experience and specializes in mine tailings management, site and civil design, and dam safety and design. 

Ruth Johnson, PE, a senior electrical engineer in Barr’s Denver office, who has more than three decades of experience in planning, design, operations and maintenance, and construction for electrical substations, transmission lines, and high-voltage DC transmission / flexible AC transmission facilities.

Charlene McGue, a senior environmental consultant in Barr’s Grand Rapids office, who has more than three decades of experience developing comprehensive closure strategies and plans for sites with environmental contamination.

Chris Miron, PE, a chemical engineer in Barr’s Grand Rapids office, who has more than 30 years of experience on projects involving environmental remediation; brownfield redevelopment; soil, groundwater and industrial wastewater treatment; and environmental permitting and compliance across the Midwest.

Nick Rupert, PE, a mechanical engineer in Barr’s Hibbing office, who has nearly two decades of experience providing services for a variety of mechanical systems to clients in mining, mineral processing, frac sand, manufacturing, power, and woodproducts.  

Michelle Stockness, PE, LEED AP, a senior civil/environmental engineer in Barr’s Minneapolis office, who has nearly two decades of experience providing water and wastewater engineering services to municipalities and industrial clients. 

Miguel Wong, PE, a senior civil engineer in Barr’s Minneapolis office, who has more than two decades of experience on projects involving hydrologic modeling, hydraulic design, and river mechanics analysis. 

Barr’s board of directors also appointed Omid Mohseni, PhD, PE, as a technical vice president. Omid is a senior water resources engineer in Barr’s Minneapolis office with more than 28 years of experience in hydraulic structure design and analysis, open-channel hydraulic engineering, hydrologic modeling of watersheds, hydrodynamic modeling of rivers and lakes, and underground stormwater BMPs. 

The board also named Jeff Lee and Hal Runke principals emeritus of the firm. Jeff is a senior ecologist in Barr’s Duluth office with more than three decades of experience with stream assessment and restoration, environmental review, natural resource inventories, and native-plant-community restoration and management. Hal is a senior limnologist in Barr’s Minneapolis office who has more than four decades of experience on projects involving water quality management.
