Since opening our Ann Arbor office 25 years ago, Barr has built a thriving practice integrating engineering and environmental expertise for clients across Michigan and throughout the Midwest. Our staff serve a wide range of industries, including the power, fuels, and manufacturing sectors. We’ve continued to expand by hiring industry experts and acquired King & MacGregor Environmental, Inc. in 2020, enhancing our environmental capabilities and natural resources consulting services. To better serve our Michigan clients, Barr’s Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids offices also offer services as Barr Engineering Michigan LLC.

We’re active members of professional organizations such as the Michigan Manufacturers Association, Air & Waste Management Association, Michigan Wetlands Association, Michigan Municipal Electrical Association, Michigan Chemistry Council, Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association, Michigan Section of the American Water Works Association, Engineering Society of Detroit, and Michigan Association of Environmental Professionals. Our local team has extensive experience in natural resources management; planning, permitting, and design for power generation and transmission projects; and the remediation and mitigation of known and emerging contaminants.
