Susan Behery

Susan Behery is a senior water resources engineer based in Barr’s Durango, Colorado, office supporting reservoir operations, water-supply planning, hydrologic modeling, and forecasting across the western United States. Her career has focused on the challenges of water management in arid and semi-arid regions, particularly throughout the Colorado River Basin, where she has worked with federal agencies, irrigation districts, tribal communities, and local water managers. Prior to joining Barr, she served as a hydrologic engineer with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, leading reservoir operations, forecasting, and flood-control efforts in the San Juan River Basin. Today, Susan helps clients navigate water-supply uncertainty through reservoir modeling, scenario planning, and real-time operational support, translating complex hydrologic conditions into practical decisions that improve resilience and long-term water reliability.
