About the presenters

Emily Ahachich, ESG strategic consultant, works closely with Barr’s industry and technical experts to identify and deliver advice and solutions that help clients achieve their sustainability goals across various environmental issues. Her areas of focus include materiality, goal setting, and measurement; program development; and disclosures.

Sharon Dahl, senior environmental scientist, brings more than 30 years of experience in the areas of environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and project management. She draws on her wide-ranging background, which includes positions in a petroleum refinery, a state regulatory agency, and analytical laboratories, to provide comprehensive perspectives to clients facing permitting and compliance challenges.

Aklima Hossain, senior chemical engineer, has nearly 25 years of experience in project development; conceptual and detailed design; and procurement, installation, startup, and construction support for new and retrofit industrial projects. She has served in various project roles, including project manager, engineering manager, lead engineer, project chemical engineer, and senior technical consultant. Aklima’s technical areas of specialization are water and wastewater treatment, solid-waste material handling, and air pollution control.

About the moderator

Bailey Hadnott, environmental engineer, assists organizations with environmental compliance, bench testing, technical analysis, and system design. She evaluates new or existing water and wastewater treatment systems, performs bench testing to model water and wastewater treatment systems, calculates mass balances, and performs feasibility studies. Her services also include preparing plans for compliance, spill prevention, and stormwater monitoring. Bailey also participates in preparing applications for new and reissued NPDES permits.
